About

As an oil painter, my work is deeply rooted in narrative, exploring visions from my life and examining ideas of connection. I seek to capture moments of intimacy, often painting friends and family, reflecting on relationships and the spaces between presence and absence.

My creative process is largely intuitive; certain photographs or scenes present themselves to me, unlocking memories of stories I feel compelled to tell. I often find myself painting memories of summer in deep winter, drawn to the contrast between presence and absence, memory and reality. I use traditional oil painting techniques, incorporating a subtle surrealist influence, often employing unnatural perspective, shadows and mirrors to evoke the fluid nature of memory and perception. Through my work, I leave the door open for the viewer to develop their own interpretation of events, inviting them into my world while allowing space for them to be informed by their own reflections.

For me, painting is a meditative practice, a way of understanding the beauty inherent in life. My work is a pursuit of peace, connection and beauty, an attempt to highlight the quiet moments that make life meaningful. Through my art, I hope to offer people a new way of seeing the world around them, offering a space for contemplation and appreciation for the everyday.
